July Card Class "Just Foxy"

July's card class featured the Foxy Friends stamp set, Fox Builder punch and A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper stack.  We made 3 of each design for a total of 12 cards.  The featured colors coordinated with the designer paper stack which included Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Black.

20160717 Fox card

The first card used a sitting fox image from the Foxy Friends stamp set stamped in Calypso Coral.  Then the face, which includes the eyes and nose and also part of the Foxy Friends stamp set, was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  The coordinating design from the A Little Foxy designer paper stack provides a nice background.  The sentiment is from the Greatest Greetings set.  A cute, quick and simple card!

20160717 Racoon card

The next card is a raccoon punched from smoky slate with the Fox Builder punch.  The head, body and tail were then stamped with images from the Foxy Friends stamp set in Basic Gray.  The eyes and nose were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink using another face image from the Foxy Friends stamp set.  The square with the hearts were stamped in Calypso Coral and is also from the Foxy Friends stamp set.  The background paper is from A Little Foxy Design Paper Series stack.  When assembling the raccoon, his head is slightly tilted to look like he is thinking and speaking to you.  There is a dimensional behind the end of his tail and the point was bent slightly forward so it looked like it was swishing.  This little raccoon is so cute!

20160717 Totoro and dust sprite card

Then it's Totoro with his friend the dust sprite (or soot sprite).  To make Totoro's ears I used the fox builder punch--the piece that would be used for the face accent--and cut it into 2 pieces.    Totoro's body was stamped in Smoky Slate using the shape from Playful Pals.  His tummy is a 1" circle punched from whisper white.  And the triangle designs are from the Playful Pals set also.  His eyes were punched using the 1/4" handheld circle punch.  For the dust sprite, I punched a 1 1/4" circle out of basic black and then tore around the edges so that it looked fuzzy.  The dust sprite's eyes are also 1/4" circles.   When adhering the eyes and ears, it helps to use the fine tip glue pen.The 01 size journaling pen was used to draw in the whiskers, nose and black eyes.  I just can't get enough of Totoro, he is so cute.

The final card is a little bird in a cage that was made using the Badges and Banners stamp set with coordinating punches--Best Badge and Duet Banner.

20160717 Little hello birdcage card

The hello banner was stamped on watermelon wonder and punched using the Duet Banner punch.  The birdcage was stamped on whisper white and punched using the best badge punch.  The strip of paper in the background is from the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series paper in watermelon wonder.
