Jars & Shells - July 2025 Class Cards

Here are the cards from my Jars & Shells class.  They range from favorite treats to cute turtles.  The stamp sets and products are from the Annual Catalog as well as On-line Exclusives.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Cookie Jars

Here are the easiest and quickest cookies that you can make!  Tailor it to your favorites—in class we made chocolate chip and almond ones.  The large cookie on the outside was made by using the large mushroom top from the Terrific Toadstools bundle.  Then we added a face, similar to the Dim Sum card in May’s class.  For the chocolate chips, I made a "stamp" from the eraser on the top of a pencil into a chocolate chip shape and stamped that on the cookie using Early Espresso Ink. It can also be drawn on using an Early Espresso marker.  For the red dot on the almond cookie, I use Real Red blends to draw it in. For added definition, the outer edge of the punched cookie was rolled in the coordinating ink pad (e.g., Crumb Cake and Darling Duckling).

The cookies in the jar were made using the Sweet Jar stamp set—the cookie shapes were stamped first.  Then for the chocolate chip cookies a second stamp was used for the chips or for the almond cookies the red dot was drawn in using Real Red blends.  Enjoy your sweet treats!

Card 2: Ramen

This bowl of ramen was made using the jar punch.  The bowl is the top of the jar shape with the bottom of the jar shape partially cut away.  Then the broth is a portion of the bottom of the jar shape.  In class, we used a template to make it easier to cut the bowl shape consistently.  The green onions were drawn using the Granny Apple Green blend.  The kamaboko was made using the top of a pencil eraser stamped in Strawberry Slush and a white gel pen for the swirl.  And finally for the noodle, it is yellow bakers twine.  Yum!

Card 4: Turtle Gift Card Holder

The Turtle-y awesome DSP has turtles in the garden and at the beach.  In class, the packet included paper for one of the three sets of cards.  These turtles were cut using snips.  Some of the other shapes, such as the birds and flower have dies to do the cutting.  This fun fold card was inspired by one of the cards from our recent Blooming Creations stamp camp—the inner fold creates a pocket for a gift card.

Here are the garden cards.

Here are the beach cards.

Here is the opened card.

Tips:

  • For the card base, fold on each of the score marks so that the ¾” section is inside the card.

  • Glue the fold shut on the outside of the card.

  • On the inside of the card, put glue on each end of the fold so that it attaches to the inside front of the card. See photo for example of how to tuck in a gift card.

Here is the recipe:

  • Dies: Turtle-y Awesome, Stylish Shapes

  • Pool Party cardstock 5 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4 ¼, 5, 5 ¾”
