February Card Class "Skip Hop" Cards
Here are the cards that we made in my February class. The first is a favorite--using punches to make a cute little rabbit. The body is from the owl punch (cut off the ears and feet). The paws are made from the little heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. The ears are made from the word window punch. The heart is from the hearts border punch. The little balloon from the new party punch pack is a perfect addition. This sample shows the card with a "happy birthday" sentiment. The other sentiment we used in class was "hippity hoppity", which is also from the And Many More stamp set.
The next card uses the Easter Lamb set. Even though it says "Happy Easter", to make it more versatile, I mounted the words on the side of the wood block. Then I could use the lamb image without always stamping the Easter portion. So we can use it for baby cards, kid's cards or other things. The colors are the new in-color Tip Top Taupe. Wink of Stella clear was also used on the lamb for some shimmer.
The third card uses the Apple of My Eye stamp set--who can resist cherries-- and the scalloped tag topper. The wide burlap ribbon adds a rustic flair.
The final card is a tower card, inspired by my upline Cindy. I just love this design. You can make any occasion card, use designer paper and punches or framelits for embelishments. You can easily adapt it to fit the supplies you have on hand and/or occasion you need a card for. For class, we used the Perfect Pairings stamp set, Wildflower Fields designer paper and matching Flowering Fields stamp set, which are all Sale-A-Bration items. To make this card, use a piece of cardstock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2". Then score along the 8 1/2" edge at 2", 4", 6" and 8". Fold on all of the score marks. You will be left with a 1/2" tab. Attach tear and tape to this tab, then close the card. For each of the side panels, attach designer paper measuring 5 1/4" x 1 3/4". I cut the panels from a single piece of designer paper and then attached them in sequence so that the images would flow. There are 3 views of the card below--flat, standing front view and standing back view.
