A Fruit Basket of Cards
One of my favorite stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog is the Apple of My Eye photopolymer stamp set. I made a peach card for my January class--there is a piece of it in the January sneak peek post. Then today I worked on swaps for our next group meeting--Stamped with Aloha (SWA) Inspiration night and came up with these.
First up the cherries. Instead of using the stamp, to make the cherries, I used the 3/4" circle punch to punch circles from real red. It would also have looked great being punched from red glimmer paper. I tried different color palettes and couldn't decide which one I liked best.
Then I found some Cherry On Top designer paper strips that I had leftover from another project. It had little cherries on it so it made a cute background. I used the solid fruit shape (it could be many different fruits depending on how you used it in your design--a peach, an apple, a large cherry, a plum...). In this case, I wanted it to look like a large cherry. I couldn't decide which background I liked better, the Cucumber Crush or the Watermelon Wonder.
With the rest of the Cherry On Top designer paper strips, I made these cards using the citris stamp. The different patterns are from each side of the designer paper. The featured colors are Hello Honey and Watermelon Wonder.
So the fruit in the set that I haven't used yet is the pear. I'll work on a card using the pear another day. You can see that it's a very versatile set and easy to create many different cards from. Hope you enjoyed the fruits!
