Holiday Card - Penguin in Disguise
During the holiday season, you may see penguins getting into the holiday spirit by dressing up as reindeer. This cute little guy has a nose made from the Home for the Holidays large enamel dot. The enamel dots come in a pack with 2 sheets.
I used the largest red one for the nose. I needed more than what the pack had, so I also colored the large white ones with a red sharpie. I colored it while it was still on the original sheet and then let it dry before I used it. On the sheet to the left you can see the remaining outline for 3 that I used and the 3 that are colored on and remaining to be used.
Here is the penguin with the enamel dot in red as it came in the pack.
Here is the penguin with the enamel dot that was originally white then colored with a red sharpie. The color is a little brighter.
I punched a 2 1/2" circle out of the crumb cake cardstock. I also punched a 2 1/2" circle out of whisper white cardstock and stamped the antlers first. The antlers are from the holiday catalog and the set is called Wonderland (retiring on Jan 4th so get it while you can). Then I stamped the penguin on top of it from the set Snow Place (holiday catalog continuing item). I stamped in this order because the penguin is a photopolymer stamp and the antlers are not. I was able to position the penguin on the stamped antlers easily. I put snail adhesive on the back of the penguin circle. Then, with the card closed, I positioned the penguin circle on the hole and pressed it down. When you open the card, the penguin is in the perfect position to fill the window. I added the enamel dot nose, which covered the beak. I put it closer to the eyes. And there you have it--penguin Rudolf!
