Penguin Treat Holder

I learned how to make this adorable treat holder from Lori Nasu, a super talented and creative Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  We were lucky to have her share this at our Stamped With Aloha Waikiki Retreat in October.  It holds a pocket hand sanitizer (this one is from Bath & Body Works).

It is decorated with the cute penguin from the stamp set Snow Place with matching Snow Friends Framelits Dies that are available as a bundle.  The penguin body was cut from black glimmer paper using the matching framelit.  The penguin image was stamped on whisper white and the center white portion  of his body was cut out and adhered to the black glimmer paper.  The scarf was stamped and then cut out using the matching framelit.  There are lots of options to dress him up--hat, earmuffs, buttons, bowtie...

To create the treat holder, use a piece of 2 5/8" x 9 3/4" cardstock.  Then along the long edge, score at 1/2", 1-1/2", 3", 4",  6-3/4",  and 7-3/4".  Crease all fold lines inward.  On the 2nd panel next to the 1/2" flap, punch a large oval.  Then cut it open towards the 1/2" flap to enlarge the opening.  Make sure your treat (e.g., hand sanitizer) will fit through the opening.  Then on the 1/2" flap, use Fast Fuse to adhere it to the base.  Refer to the  front view with the opening.

To decorate the front, there are embossed bricks to look like igloo blocks.  Cut a 2 x  2-5/8" piece of Whisper White and emboss with the brick embossing folder.  Attach it to the front flap.  Create some snow at the bottom front edge of the box using dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.  Attach it to the bottom front edge--only glue the bottom edge so that you are able to tuck the front flap under the snow.  Attach the penguin to the snow using dimensionals.

You can also fit a bottle of Stampin' Up! glitter adhesive (silver, gold, cherry cobbler, dazzling details) in this treat holder.  I made these as hostess gifts for my weekend workshop.

Thank you Lori for this wonderful treat holder!  Perfect and adaptable for any occasion.  Happy gifting!
