Making a Minion
I had several requests to include a minion card in my August stamp class. So I searched for minion models and samples. Here are my inspiration materials--the McDonalds package and the ad for Coscto checks.
Then I looked at my punches, framelits and thinlits for the best shape to create my minion from. The Note Tag punch fit the bill. The curve on the top was the perfect minion head shape. Here is the finished result.
I punched the Note Tag shape and trimmed off the edges for the body. For class, I cut 2 1/8" strips to feed into the punch so that only the domed width was punched. This saved time and made straighter edges. His hair and goggles band are scraps of black trimmed with the fringe scissors. The goggles are 1/2" circles and eyes are 3/8" circles. To make his overalls, use the Chevron Border punch (suspenders), Banner punch (bib), 1/2 strip (pants), Heart Border punch (heart accent). Round the bottom edges using the Project Life Corner punch. His arms were made from the Word Window punch and boots from the Small Heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.
You can make all sizes of minions by trimming the note tag punch piece to be shorter. Perfect for kids of all ages. Go bananas for minions!
