Summer Fun - May 2021 Class

Here are the cards from my Summer Fun stamp and go class.  They feature the new In Colors--Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Polished Pink--from the new annual catalog and other new products.  These cute puffins and woodland creatures will make you smile!  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

20210522 May class cards

Card 1: Woodland Creatures Party

This stamp set is designed to be stamped in 3 sections so that you can make a small tree or tall tree.  On this card, we created 3 separate sections by scoring at 4” and 6 ¼”, which creates an accordion fold.  Then used the Stamparatus to line up the images so that when the 3 sections are stamped, it becomes a tall tree when the cardstock is unfolded.  See the photos below for the folded and unfolded images.  Then color away!

Card 2: Puffin with Cake

This little puffin is dancing in with a cake to celebrate a special occasion.  The cake was stamped with the puffin and also on a separate piece of basic white cardstock.  Then the plate and cake were cut-out (excluding the candles) and attached with a dimensional over the stamped cake image.  Color the images.  I also used Basic Black Stampin’ Blends to touch up the black on the puffin as needed.  The large flower flourish was attached with liquid glue (or you can use a glue dot).  Ready to celebrate!

Card 3: Party Puffin

This little puffin is ready for a party.  The little wrapped fish he is carrying was stamped on a separate piece of white stock and cut out.  Color the images including touching up the puffin with basic black as needed.  The string the fish is hanging from was drawn using a black fine point pen/marker.  Then the fish was attached near the end using a mini dimensional.  What a special gift!

This little puffin says you’re the best!  It’s a panel card, scored 2 1/8” from each side along the 8 ½” edge.  The DSP on the left panel was attached flush to the edge (the side closest to the heard).  The right panel was stamped with flowers.  The heart was punched from Basic White first, then the puffin and words were stamped.  A stem for the flower was drawn with a dark green marker and the images were colored, including touching up the puffin with basic black as needed.  The little flower was attached using liquid glue.  So sweet!

Circle Sayings and the new 2023-2025 In Colors

The new 2023-2025 in colors are very earthy and coordinate well together and with the main Stampin' Up! color collections.  Pebbled Path and Boho Blue are the ones I gravitate towards the most because they are similar to colors we used to fix our house.  Then Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat, and Copper Clay are soothing and pretty too!

Here is a set of note cards featuring all 5 new in-colors using the Circle Sayings Bundle, which includes the Circle Sayings Bundle and new 2 3/8" circle punch.   These are the “take and make” cards for my new catalog open house (May 7th).  Below are the individual cards and recipes too.  Thanks for stopping by in person and virtually!

On the Farm - February 2023 Class

Happy February!  Here are the cards from my On the Farm class.  All of the cards feature the Flowers & More designer series paper from the new mini catalog (stampin’ rewards item, pg. 90) plus something from the farm (little pigs, geese, carrots) and a princess or something for girl’s day.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Silly Goose

This card features the Silly Goose stamp set along with the Flowers & More designer series paper (DSP).  It is a panel card and instead of making each panel the same size, the left panel was sized larger (3 ¼” wide) to feature more of the DSP.  The layering circles dies were used to cut out the white and blackberry bliss circles.  Only attach the circles to the left side panel—you can secure using dimensionals.  Having the hearts thought bubble helps to finish it off-from the Conversation Bubbles Bundle.  Note: The image of the goose in the inner tube also fits in the circle.

  • Dies: Layering Circles, Conversation Bubbles*
  • Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (mini catalog stampin’ rewards choice) 3 x 4”
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock 4 ¼ x 11”, scored at 3 ¼” and 8 ¾”
  • Blackberry Bliss cardstock, die cut using 2 7/8” circle
  • Basic White cardstock, die cut using 2 5/8” circle, plus scrap for hearts bubble (1 x ¾” finished)
  • Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins – Petal Pink, 3 small and 3 large
  • Stampin’ Blends: Fresh Freesia; Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate
  • Ink Pads: Memento Tuxedo Black, Fresh Freesia

Card 2: Birthday Piggy

This cute little pig is sending birthday wishes from his scooter.  The circle window is cut out of the card front and then nests with the matching circle size attached inside the card.  The inside layer also features a Z-fold (see photo below for assembly).  The die used to cut out the pigs was originally available during a special in September 2022, but now is available on the Clerance Rack at a discount while supplies last.  If you don’t have the dies, you can just cut it out using snips.  Note: The little pig with the cake and balloon also fits the circle.

20230218 Birthday Piggy

20230218 Birthday Piggy open

Assembly tips:

  • Before cutting the circle from the card front, attach the DSP but only secure it along the outside edges. Then cut out the circle using the 2 7/8” sized die.  You can then separate the DSP from the Starry Sky cardstock.
  • For the white cardstock that will go on the inside of the card, fold on the scored marks forming a Z-fold (see photo). Then attach it to the inside of the card.
  • Close the card so that you can see the white through the circle. Attach the Starry Sky circle that you cut out in the first step to only the right side of the white cardstock that is showing through the circle (the top Z fold).  Then when you open the card, the Z fold can fully open up.

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: This Birthday Piggy
  • Dies: Playful Piggy Dies (available on the Clearance Rack while supplies last), Layering Circles
  • Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (mini catalog stampin’ rewards choice) 4 x 5 ¼”
  • Starry Sky cardstock 5 ½ x 8 ½”
  • Basic White cardstock 5 ¼ x 8”, scored at 4” and 6” along the long edge
  • Basic White cardstock, for pig image, approximately 2 ¼ x 3 ¼”
  • Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins – Balmy Blue, 3 small and 2 large
  • Stampin’ Blends: Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo; Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis, Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake
  • Ink Pad: Memento Tuxedo Black

Card 3: Happy Carrots

Who thought carrots could be cute?  Just add some faces and they are!  The carrots are from the Thanks a Bunch Sale-A-Bration stamp set and the faces are from the Taco Fiesta stamp set.  I just used 2 of the 5 facial expressions.  What can you add a face to next?

20230218 Carrots

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: Thanks a Bunch (FREE Sale-A-Bration $100 choice), Taco Fiesta
  • Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (mini catalog stampin’ rewards choice) 3 x 4”
  • Pale Papaya cardstock 5 ½ x 8 ½”
  • Evening Evergreen cardstock 2 ¾ x 4 ½”
  • Basic White cardstock 2 ½ x 4 ¼”
  • Ink Pads: Pale Papaya, Pumpkin Pie, Parakeet Party, Evening Evergreen, Memento Tuxedo Black

Card 4: Princess/Happy Girls Day

Girls Day is coming up and this kokeshi doll princess brought back memories of girls day dolls—remember the ones in the glass case with their intricate kimono, hairstyles and adornments?  This is a much simplified version and was made using punches.

  • Tulip Builder Punch – For crown, face, and hair
  • Vintage Bottle Punch – For body and dress

Place the face in the lower section of the tulip (not the middle).  You can draw or stamp it—I used a face from the retired Cute Fruit stamp set.  Then give her rosy cheeks using the light Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend.

For the dress, I used a print from the Flowers & More DSP.  Get different looks by using another DSP print and different color hair, along with coordinating cardstock colors.  I cut a V neck using snips but you can make it rounded or another design.

20230218 Girls day card

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Inspired Thoughts, Cute Fruit (this is a retired stamp set that I used for the face, you can also draw the face instead)
  • Flowers & More Designer Series Paper (mini catalog stampin’ rewards choice) to punch bottle shape (dress)
  • Basic White Cardstock 5 ½ x 8 ½”
  • Basic Black cardstock 2 ¾ x 4 ¼”, scraps to punch 2 tulip petals (for hair)
  • Crumb cake cardstock 2 5/8 x 4 1/8”
  • Sweet Sorbet cardstock 2 1/8 x 5 ½”
  • Petal Pink cardstock to punch tulip (for face) and bottle (for body)
  • Gold Foil to punch tulip top only (for crown)
  • Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins – Gold, 3 small and 3 large

Ballcaps & Blooms - July 2021 Class

Here are the cards from my Ballcaps & Blooms stamp and go class.  These remind me of some of the best things in summer—baseball, rainbow shave ice and the outdoors.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

20210717 Class cards

Card 1: Ballcap

This card is very versatile.  You can pick the color scheme to match a favorite team or school colors.  And you can design the hat accent to match that special team too.  The hat was stamped in Night of Nave on Misty Moonlight cardstock.  Then the die both cut the shape and added the amazing stitching detail.  For the hat accents, the dies come with many shapes and have coordinating stamps.  I really liked the fish die and being able to make a hat for dad.

20210717 Ballcap cards

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Hats Off
  • Crumb Cake cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Early Espresso cardstock 4 ¼ x 1 ¾”
  • Night of Navy cardstock 4 ¼ x 3 ¼”
  • Very Vanilla cardstock 4 x 3”
  • Misty Moonlight cardstock 3 ½ x 2 ¾” to stamp and cut hat
  • Smoky Slate or Gray Granite and Bumblebee cardstock to cut hat accents
  • Ink Pads: Night of Navy Classic Ink, Bumblebee Classic Ink
  • Hat Builder Dies
  • Bark 3D Embossing folder
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Card 2: Ballcap Bunny

The Hat Builder Dies came with this cute little ballcap that also has amazing stitching detail.  When I saw it, I couldn’t wait to make a card.  I looked at my punches to see what critter could wear the hat.  I decided on a rabbit.  To make the rabbit, I used the Snowman Builder punch for the body.  I cut the top circle of the body off and just used the bottom 2.  Then for the ears and feet, I used the petals from the daisy punch.  For the tail, I used a regular sized office circle punch.  To add dimension, I “shooked” all the edges using a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake classic ink.  For the hat accent, I used a heart, but you could easily use a small circle, draw in your favorite design, and put it on the cap.  So that I wouldn’t have to worry about the face, I made the rabbit looking out over the hill, with it’s back towards us.  The clouds are from the Give it a Whirl Dies.  I thought it matched especially because it has the same stitched accents on the edges as the hat.  Isn't this little guy cute?!

20210717 Bunny card

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Inspired Thoughts (for sentiment), Count On Me (for grass)
  • Balmy Blue cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock 4 ¼ x 2 1/8” to cut the hill shape
  • Night of Navy cardstock to cut little hat
  • Basic White cardstock for clouds
  • Crumb Cake cardstock for bunny
  • Other cardstock for hat accent (sample used Real Red)
  • Ink Pad: Memento Tuxedo Black, Granny Apple Green Classic Ink, Crumb Cake Classic Ink
  • Sponge Dauber for “shooking” edges
  • Punches: Snowman Builder Punch, Daisy Punch
  • Dies: Hat Builder Dies, Give it a Whirl Dies
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Card 3: Good Things Grow

The All Squared Away stamp set and its coordinating die called Floral Squares were used to create this card.  I tried to keep it simple by using Basic White with Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape for the pop.  The Fresh Freesia squared were stamped with one of the square designs.  It does not matter if you get it perfectly straight because the edges will be covered by the white frame.  The White Frame is popped up with mini dimensionals.  There are 4 different frames and stamps so all are shown on these 2 cards.  You could put all 4 on a single card if you’d like.

20210717 Grow cards

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: All Squared Away
  • Basic White cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”, plus additional for frames (a 2x2” will fit 1 frame)
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock 2 x 2” squares (2 per card)
  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock for flowers
  • Ink Pads: Fresh Freesia Classic Ink, Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink
  • Floral Squares dies
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Card 4: Floral Rainbow

I got the idea for this card when I was at the North Shore eating my favorite rainbow shave ice and seeing the colorful surf wear.  A lot of ombres and blending of colors.  Luckily, we have the perfect thing—Rainbow Glimmer Paper (pg 135 of the annual catalog).  This paper is so pretty! You can see half the rainbow of colors on the black card and the other half on the white card.  Because both have purple, when I cut the glimmer paper, I cut from each end leaving a middle strip I used to cut the floral accent and words from.  The Flower Market Die created the floral patterns you see on the white and black cardstock—it’s all from one piece.  I also used some of the cut away little pieces to add some centers to the flowers.  The Artistry Blooms adhesive backed sequins add more pop.  A pretty and cheerful rainbow shimmer card – no stamping needed.

20210717 Rainbow cards

Here is the recipe:

  • Basic white cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Basic Black or Basic White cardstock 4 ¼ x 5 ½” plus additional to cut tag shape
  • Rainbow Glimmer paper 4 x 5 ¼”
  • Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins
  • Dies: Flower Market, Birthday Chick (for happy birthday), Pierced Blooms (for flowers and tag shape), In the Tropics Dies (has the word Aloha)
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
