The Stamping Owl

Here are the cards from my Very Merry class. This is one of my favorite classes of the year because we get to create cards for the holidays with many of my favorite things—merry snowmen, cute penguins, woodland creatures and holiday scenes.  The stamp sets and products are from the new Holiday Mini Catalog and the Annual Catalog.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Merry Snowman

First we have a duo of cute snowmen.  The Snowman Hugs stamp set comes with two cute snowmen and sentiments.  All you need to do is color with Stampin’ Blends and you are done!  The cute plaid background was made using the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder.  These items are from the holiday mini catalog.

Card 2: Snow Globe Penguin

This card features the super cute Snowy Scenes 12 x 12” DSP.  There is also a coordinating stamp set and dies, Snowy Wonder.  There are several sheets of DSP in this pack that have large and small snow globes.  The large snow globes can be cut using the coordinating dies.  The small snow globes are cut using snips.  The cute peppermints come with adhesive backings.

Card 3: Santa Owl

This card features the cute owl and coordinating sentiment from the Christmas Friends stamp set.  The owl was die cut using the coordinating Christmas Friends dies, which also contain the dies used to cut the arch, garland, bows, ribbons and presents.  You’ll see more of these cute Christmas friends on the next card.

Card 4: Beary Merry Christmas/Merry Christmoose

Here are more Christmas friends—the bear and moose.  Also cut using the coordinating Christmas Friends dies along with the circle that is part of the set.  The stamped trees and sentiment are from the Christmas Friends stamp set too.  This is a pocket card, the card is folded as usual.  Then it is cut at the 4 ¼” mark to the center fold, see photo of the card open.  The 1 ½” flap is glued around the edges to create a pocket.  The polka dots on the 1” strip on the pocket was made using the eraser top on a pencil stamped in Classic Ink.

Let’s get ready for the holidays!  Here are the cards from Festive Holidays class.  All of these cute animals are from the Festive & Fun and Beary Cute stamp sets. Plus we used the Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs and Merry Bold & Bright or Beary Christmas designer series paper on each card.  You can check out in the holiday mini catalog. Card 1: Giraffe Christmas

How handy to have a giraffe helping to decorate your tree.  More decorations were added to the tree using the Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs. The card front is scored 1 ½” from the edge and folded back to create a pocket to tuck in a gift card or other special treat. Secure the sides of the pocket with Tear n tape or liquid glue.  For additional shimmer, I colored the star, ornaments and hat with Wink of Stella.

Card 2: Rhino & Gifts

This cute rhino is delivering gifts along with his feathered friends.  Instead of coloring the entire image, I chose to feature one color to make the image pop, which was Real Red.  It also highlights the feeling of snow along with the background being embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder.  For additional shimmer, I colored over the red with Wink of Stella.

Card 4: Polar Bears Surprise

This pair of polar bears are on top of a fold up flap that you can attach a gift card to.  Just pull the white bakers twine and snowflake tab on the bottom to reveal the surprise.  Thanks to Dawn Griffith for teaching me how to do this.  You can check out her video here (it’s card #2) to see how she made her card.  Instead of using a die to create the tab slit, I used a 1/8" circle punch to mark each end and then cut a slit between the holes using my paper trimmer.  See photo.

Card 1: Jingle Bells

This card features the Celebrate Everything DSP and two-step stamping.  The JINGLE outline is stamped in Pacific Point ink, then filled in with another stamp using Pool Party ink.  For the bells, they were stamped with Granny Apple Green ink, then the star on the bell with Pacific Point ink, and the red rhinestone gives it some bling.  The Celebrate Everything DSP has so many patterns to choose from, you can just change up the sentiments and ink colors to match the pattern!

Card 2: Merry Christmouse

This cute little mouse is ready for the night before Christmas.  It was punched from the Penguin Builder punch.  Then the eyes and whiskers were drawn with a black marker, ears with a pink marker, and a red rhinestone nose.  He’s standing by a present and in front of trees from the Spruced Up stamp set.  This is a pocket card so you can include a gift card, packet of tea or other similar item.  The photo below shows 2 options for sentiments—my favorite being the handwritten modification to “merry christmouse”.

Card 3: Gingerbread House

This card features the Sweet Gingerbread bundle and Sweetest Christmas DSP to create a sweet holiday scene.  The house was stamped on Basic White cardstock in Crumb Cake ink, then windows in Pool Party ink, then designs door/window outlines in Early Espresso ink.  It was then die cut along with the roof scalloped edge in Early Espresso cardstock.  The snow hill background and steps, smoke cloud and lollipops (stamped in Real Red first) were die cut as well.  The Sweet Gingerbread has more cute images and coordinating dies to create many different house, such as a wreath, gumdrops, trees and heart.

Card 4: Penguin Fishing

This cute little penguin is fishing for holiday gifts.  The fish is from the Party Puffins stamp set.  The rest of the images are from the Penguin Place stamp set.  For the water and ice patch, the Layering Diorama dies were used.  I decided to use Fresh Freesia as the accent color (hat, scarf, present, words) to pick up on the lavender/pink shimmer on the adhesive snowflakes.
