Summer Fun - May 2021 Class

Here are the cards from my Summer Fun stamp and go class.  They feature the new In Colors--Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Polished Pink--from the new annual catalog and other new products.  These cute puffins and woodland creatures will make you smile!  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

20210522 May class cards

Card 1: Woodland Creatures Party

This stamp set is designed to be stamped in 3 sections so that you can make a small tree or tall tree.  On this card, we created 3 separate sections by scoring at 4” and 6 ¼”, which creates an accordion fold.  Then used the Stamparatus to line up the images so that when the 3 sections are stamped, it becomes a tall tree when the cardstock is unfolded.  See the photos below for the folded and unfolded images.  Then color away!

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Woodland Wonder

  • Granny Apple Green cardstock 3 ¾ x 4 ¾”
  • Basic White cardstock  3 ½ x 8 ½”, scored at 4” and 6 ¼”

  • Stampin’ Blends: Bronze, Ivory, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Smoky Slate
  • Stamparatus

Card 2: Puffin with Cake

This little puffin is dancing in with a cake to celebrate a special occasion.  The cake was stamped with the puffin and also on a separate piece of basic white cardstock.  Then the plate and cake were cut-out (excluding the candles) and attached with a dimensional over the stamped cake image.  Color the images.  I also used Basic Black Stampin’ Blends to touch up the black on the puffin as needed.  The large flower flourish was attached with liquid glue (or you can use a glue dot).  Ready to celebrate!

Card 3: Party Puffin

This little puffin is ready for a party.  The little wrapped fish he is carrying was stamped on a separate piece of white stock and cut out.  Color the images including touching up the puffin with basic black as needed.  The string the fish is hanging from was drawn using a black fine point pen/marker.  Then the fish was attached near the end using a mini dimensional.  What a special gift!

This little puffin says you’re the best!  It’s a panel card, scored 2 1/8” from each side along the 8 ½” edge.  The DSP on the left panel was attached flush to the edge (the side closest to the heard).  The right panel was stamped with flowers.  The heart was punched from Basic White first, then the puffin and words were stamped.  A stem for the flower was drawn with a dark green marker and the images were colored, including touching up the puffin with basic black as needed.  The little flower was attached using liquid glue.  So sweet!

Summer Pals - June Class

Here are the cards from my Summer Pals class.  Most of the cards feature designer series paper—we are having a special this month for 15% off selected DSP.  All of the cards use one of my favorite new embellishments—2022-2024 In Color Pearls (self adhesive). The colors are iridescent and take on hues of the colors it is used with so they complement many combinations. Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Best Pals

This card features the By My Side stamp set, new Bright & Beautiful DSP, and several of the new colors (Lemon Lime Twist, Blueberry Bushel, and Berry Burst).  Choose your favorite pal and color using blends in coordinating colors.

20230624 Girl with Butterfly card

20230624 Best Pals cards

Tips:

  1. Stamp the images before die cutting the circle so that you can control placement because this is not a photopolymer set.
  2. Use a mini glue dot to adhere the flower. An added bonus is that the adhesive will also show through the center of the flower and allow extra stickiness for your pearl.

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: By My Side, Circle Sayings (sentiment)
  • Dies: Zany Zoo (for small flower); Stylish Shapes (for 2 ½” circle)
  • Bright & Beautiful DSP 2 x 5 1/4”
  • Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Blueberry Bushel cardstock 2 ¾ x 2 ¾”
  • Basic White cardstock for 2 ½” die cut circle, piece to stamp and cut out dog
  • Berry Burst for small die cut flower
  • Ink Pad: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Stampin’ Blends: Petal Pink, Bronze, Bubble Bath, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist, Crumb Cake
  • 2022-2024 In Color Pearls

Card 2: Little Bird

I just love this cute little bird with glasses.  There are other birds in the set with other glasses, even spectacles!  This is a panel card where the panels overlap in the front by 1”.  The layered circles are attached to the left flap and the right flap is tucked under the layered circles to hold the card closed (see top view).

Tips:

  1. For card base, fold panels on score marks. In my card, I have the 2 ¾” panel on the left and the 3 ¼” panel on the right.
  2. Attach the Berry Burst piece to the left panel and the DSP to the right panel.
  3. Fold the card so that the right panel overlaps the left panel.
  4. Place dimensionals on left half of the layered circles with your stamped image. Then attach it to the left panel while the card is folded closed.  Make sure that your dimensionals only attach to the left panel.
  5. You can open your card, then close it by tucking it under the circle.
  6. Use a mini glue dot to adhere the flower. An added bonus is that the adhesive will also show through the center of the flower and allow extra stickiness for your pearl.

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: Bird's Eye View, Just My Type (for sentiment)
  • Dies: Zany Zoo (for small flower); Stylish Shapes (for 2 ½” circle)
  • Bright & Beautiful DSP 3 x 4”
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock 4 ¼ x 11”, scored at 2 ¾” and 7 ¾”
  • Berry Burst cardstock 4 x 2 ½” and for small die cut flower
  • Lemon Lime Twist cardstock for 2 ½” die cut circle

Card 4: My Type

This retro typewriter brings back memories of typing class with all of its unique sounds—like the clackety clack of the keys and the ding of the bell when you get to the end of the row.  I like the typewriter font and nostalgic feeling of this set.  This is a panel card, scored at 2 1/8” from each side.  The image is attached to the left panel using dimensionals.  An eraser top stamped in Lost Lagoon ink was used to create the polka dots on the left panel.

Card 2: Circle Frame

This simple card is made by cutting out the stitched circle from the top layer to create a window to frame one of the cute zoo animals.  The ones shown in these cards are from the Zoo Crew DSP that were manually cut using snips.  For class, your kit will have three of the four animals shown in the photos.  The flowers were cut using the Zany Zoo dies and the centers are iridescent pearls basic jewels.

This happy alligator is on his way with celebratory flowers!  Use the die cut circle from the previous card for the background, attach with dimensionals. You could die cut the alligator from the DSP.  I added color to the basket by coloring it in crumb cake.  Or use snips to cut out one of the other animals like the bunny on the scooter, roller skating ostrich, fox riding the moped…all are cute!

Card 4: Accordion Flip

I saw different variations of this accordion flip card.  For this version, I decided to use different sized flip pages.  The DSP is 5 ¼ x 12”, scored at 2”, 5” and 8”.  The 2” flap is folded first so that the animal images are inside, the rest are accordion folded, attach the 3” sections together.  See the top view of the folds below.

20230527 Accordion card top view

The 4” section of the DSP is attached to the Basic Black cardstock backing.  For each page of the card, see the sequential photos below.  Four versions are shown because the class kit includes 3 of the 4 options.  The animal for each version coordinates with the DSP used—stamp, die cut and color.

Circle Sayings and the new 2023-2025 In Colors

The new 2023-2025 in colors are very earthy and coordinate well together and with the main Stampin' Up! color collections.  Pebbled Path and Boho Blue are the ones I gravitate towards the most because they are similar to colors we used to fix our house.  Then Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat, and Copper Clay are soothing and pretty too!

Here is a set of note cards featuring all 5 new in-colors using the Circle Sayings Bundle, which includes the Circle Sayings Bundle and new 2 3/8" circle punch.   These are the “take and make” cards for my new catalog open house (May 7th).  Below are the individual cards and recipes too.  Thanks for stopping by in person and virtually!
