Sweet On You - March Class

Here are the cards from my Sweet on You class.  There is a variety of food and friends this month.  The stamp sets and products are from the new Mini Catalog and the Annual Catalog.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

Card 1: Soft Serve Swirl Wishes

I love soft serve swirl cones.  I was imagining this one as a vanilla-strawberry combo, which is one I don’t find offered often.  The ice cream cone is made entirely from dies and the cone is what opens up for the card (see second photo below).  The hearts were punched using the Bee Builder punch.  For some sparkle, I accented the strawberry and hearts with Wink of Stella.  When attaching the cone, align it with the top edge of the cardstock base, which is the Bubble Batch cardstock.  Have fun playing with other flavor combinations!

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Set: Ice Cream Swirl
  • Bubble Bath cardstock 4 ¼ x 3 ¼” for base; 2 5/8 x 3 ¼” piece to die cut strawberry swirl
  • Very Vanilla cardstock 3 x 3 ½” piece to die but vanilla ice cream
  • Pecan Pie cardstock 6 ½ x 2 ¾” piece to die cut cone
  • Petunia Pop cardstock to punch hearts
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels – medium or large
  • Bee Builder Punch
  • Ice Cream Swirl Dies
  • Ink Pad: Early Espresso classic ink
  • Wink of Stella

Card 2:  Happy Toadstools

The Terrific Toadstools bundle from the mini catalog includes a stamp set and coordinating punch.  As you probably know, one of my favorite things is to stamp faces on objects or plants.  Add some character to these mushrooms by stamping on a face.  It transforms into cute and happy right away!  The face used on this card is from the Bee My Valentine stamp set.  If you don’t have a face stamp, just draw one.  You can play with the placement of the eyes—close together or farther apart, open, closed, or winking—and the placement of the mouth relative to the eyes.  Small adjustments really make a difference.

Card 3: Cottage Garden Greetings

The cute rabbits and garden DSP are from the Storybook Moments Suite in the mini catalog.  This is a panel card with a pocket for gift card or similar sized item.  The DSP is the cover flap and is attached to the cardstock base which includes the pocket, as shown in the photo below.  The Old Olive cardstock base of 5 ½ x 8 ½” was scored at ¾”, 5” and 7 ½”.  Fold on all of the score marks.  The ¾” section served as the tab to attach the 3 x 5 ½” DSP.  Folding on the 7 ½” score creates a 1” pocket.  Use a circle punch to create a notch on this end and then attach the pocket edges with liquid glue.  The circles on the front of the card are attached to the DSP only.

Card 4: Framed Friends

Here are more critters from the Storybook Moments suite.  The framed critters are from the Storybook Moments DSP, which has two sheets die cut designs that include sheep, squirrels, badgers, rabbits, mice, and other critters and objects.  Some of the critters are too tall to fit into the frame, so they can be cropped at the end of the background to look like framed portraits.  To make efficient use of the cardstock, the frames were cut from the layered Basic Beige and Mossy Meadow pieces before they were adhered to the card.
