Hey Chick - April 2021 Class

Here are the cards from my Hey Chick stamp and go class.  They feature new products from the mini catalog and last chance products that will be retiring in May 3rd.  One of the retiring items is the Confetti Flowers Border punch, a favorite of mine, so I used it as much as possible in this class.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

20210417 Class cards

Card 1: Birthday Chicken with Balloon

This chicken is being lifted up from behind because of the balloon tied to her tailfeathers.  So funny!  It will bring a smile to the person that receives this card too!  The Stampin’ Blends colors used for the chicken are listed below.  I used Ivory for body, wings and feathers, and then outlined them with Crumb Cake Dark.  The Crumb Cake Light could be substituted instead.  I used Calypso Coral for the feathers, crown and balloon because it matched the DSP.  Then added a punched flower using the Confetti Flowers Border punch and the large sized Champagne rhinestone.

  • Calypso Coral cardstock for flowers
  • Playing with Patterns DSP 2 x 5 ½” (retiring)
  • Champagne Basic Rhinestones (large)
  • Ink Pad: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake (or Ivory instead of light), Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight
  • Confetti Flowers Border punch (retiring)

Card 2: Party Chickens with Cupcake

The chickens on this card are from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set too.  They were stamped on Basic White cardstock then cut out using the coordinating Birthday Chick dies. Then I attached them to the Coastal Cabana stitched circle that was die cut.  I used a dimensional to attach the little chick with the party hat to pop it out.  Made the little flowers using the Confetti Flowers Border punch.  It feels like a party!

Card 3: Cool Fruits

This stamp set, Cute Fruits, is retiring on May 3rd, so wanted to do another class card using this favorite set.  I used the layering ovals die sized at 3 ½ x 2 5/8” to make the oval.  I stamped the pineapple directly on the oval.  Then the pineapple top and watermelon were stamped separately on basic white cardstock then cut out using snips.  Both were attached using dimensionals.  Again used the little flowers that were punched with the Confetti Flowers Border punch.  The sentiment is from the Harvest Hellos stamp set, which is also retiring.

Card 4: Happy Pears

These pears are from the stamp set See the Good (retiring).  Using Daffodil Delight, I stamped the left pear, then right pear, then the middle pear last.  I also stamped a pear on basic white cardstock and cut it out and attached it over the middle pear using dimensionals.  I colored the stems using the dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend.  The faces were made using one of the faces from the Cute Fruit stamp set.  The cheeks were made using the eraser top of a wooden pencil stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink.  I just love these cute little pears and the cheerful color combination of Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo.
