Trimming the Town Holiday Projects - November Class

Here are the projects from my Trimming the Town special holiday class.  All projects feature the Trimming the Town Suite or Snowman Season stamp set.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Hope you enjoy these fun holiday projects.  Thanks for stopping by!

Project 1: Card Boxes

These card boxes were made from the mini paper pumpkin boxes.  They are perfectly sized for our notecards with envelopes.  They can also fit other treats like hot chocolate packets and cookies.  These designs feature the Trimming the Town designer series paper.

Project 2: Notecards – 2 sets

These cards were made using the Coming Home Stamp set and Home Together Dies that coordinate with the Trimming the Town DSP.  The images were colored using blends.

For the card with 2 houses, the DSP is cut at 2 x 2”. You need it to cover the 3 ½” width, so cut it in half, then adhere to each end leaving a gap in the middle.  The basic black cardstock will cover the gap.

For the Old Olive tags, the DSP is cut at 1 x 3”.  You need it to cover the 3 ¼” width, so cut it in half lengthwise, then adhere to each end leaving a gap in the middle.  The white circle will cover the gap.

Winter Friends Class - November 2020

Here are the cards from my Winter Friends stamp and go class.  They include many of my favorite things—the holidays, owls and snowmen!  These guys are all so cute and will bring you much cheer.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  Thanks for stopping by!

November card class

Card 1: Owl with Present

On this card, the original stamp image was modified in 2 ways.  First the hanging spider was covered with an ornament that was manually cut out.  Then the surprised owl was covered with the die-cut owl holding a present.  The owl holding the present is slightly smaller than the owl it is covering, so when the image was stamped on the soft sea foam cardstock, a 3/8” dot was placed on the wing portion of the owl so that it was not stamped.

Here is the recipe:

  • Stamp Sets: Have a Hoot, Gnome for the Holidays, Little Treats
  • Pear Pizzaz cardstock 8 ½ x 5 ½”
  • Mossy Meadow cardstock 2 ½ x 2 ¾”
  • Soft Sea Foam cardstock 2 ¼ x 2 ½”
  • Whisper White cardstock ~1 ¼ x 1 ¼” for owl
  • Heartwarming Hugs DSP 2 ¾ x 5 ¼”
  • Snowflake Adhesive-backed sequins
  • Ink Pad: Memento Tuxedo Black, Real Red classic pad
  • Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs: Crumb Cake (light and dark), Old Olive (light), Real Red (dark)
  • Peek-A-Hoot dies
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Card 2: Owls Under the Mistletoe

This card has an inner pocket that you can use to tuck in a gift card or other flat item.  The image with the owls was stamped on crumb cake then on whisper white and just the owls were cut out using the coordinating dies.

Here is the recipe:

  • Crumb Cake cardstock 2 ¼ x 3”

Card 3: Old Fashioned Snowman

All of the images and sentiments for this card are from the Snow Wonder stamp set.  I really like the font and messages that are in this set.

Here is the recipe:

Card 4: Sliding Snowman Gate Card

I saw this sliding center piece that holds the gate card together on a card made by another demonstrator and knew I had to try it using snowmen.  The middle piece actually slides off the card.  The card base is scored at 2 ¼” from the left and 2” from the right.  Then on the 2” side, a small sliver (less than 1/8”) was trimmed from the edge to allow space for the center piece to slide more freely.  The sliding center was made in layers as follows:

  • First layer – Stitched circle stamped with snowman with hat
  • 2nd layer – Mossy Meadow square cardstock
  • 3rd layer – 2 punched circles at 2 ¼”. Fold circles in half, then adhere to back of Mossy Meadow Cardstock.  Line up half circles so the join is down the middle and oriented vertically on the Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • 4th layer – Stitched circle stamped with snowman looking at sky

Here is a side view of the piece.
