The Stamping Owl

Happy new year!  We’re starting off the year with cute little fairies, good wishes for the year of the rat, and other critter pals.  We are using new stamp sets from the Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration, plus the New Year Celebration (Japanese stamp set) that is only available until January 31^st.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.  

Card 1: Fairy Birthday Wishes

All of the stamps used in these cards are from the New Wonders stamp set (it’s a hostess set in the annual catalog).  There are 3 different adorable little fairies, so you can see all of them in these samples.

Card 2: Squirrel with Flower

The images in this card are from the Special Someone stamp set (Mini Catalog) and the images are from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set (Sale-A-Bration).  The Special Someone stamp set features 2-step stamping—the squirrel and flower images were first stamped in black, then stamped in color to fill in the image.  So “coloring” them was a snap!

Card 3: Happy Year of the Rat

I just love this card—we used the stamp set New Year Celebration for Mt. Fuji and the sentiment says Akemashite Omedetoo Gozaimasu (happy new year). And luckily, we there was a rat in the Special Someone stamp set!  The coordinating Special Day Dies were used to cut out the rat (available from Feb 4^th).  If you want the New Year Celebration stamp set, please order it ASAP--it’s only available in the US market until January 31^st!

Card 4: Raccoon Thank You

This cute little raccoon is from the Special Someone stamp set too.  So are the rest of the images used on this card.  Again, 2-step stamping was used to “color” the raccoon and balloon.
