The Stamping Owl

Santa has been busy--making lattes, scooting around town, baking and even surfing!  Hope all of these cute Santa themed cards get you into the holiday spirit this month.  Each card uses the So Santa stamp set or Sincerely Santa stamp set.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.

Card 1: Latte from Santa

The new Swirls & Curls textured embossing folder was used on the gray granite cardstock to create the steamy and festive background.  Then the Coffee Cup framelits were used to cut out the coffee cup and whipped top.  The sentiment was cut out using the 2” circle punch.  The candy cane is from Candy Cane Season and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then cut out by hand.  As a final touch, Wink of Stella Clear was used to color the whipped top and trace the word “Santa”.

• Whisper White cardstock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2” and scraps for candy cane and whipped top
• Basic Black cardstock 3 x 4 1/4”

Card 2: Scooter Santa

Santa is scooting along with holiday gifts.  He was colored using Stampin’ Blends and his shades were further embellished with Wink of Stella.  The road was sponged using sponge daubers and Smoky Slate classic ink.  The sentiment was stamped and then punched using the Pretty Label punch because it looks like a cloud.  A Real Red Stampin’ Blend was used to trace over the last 2 words.  All of the stamps are from the So Santa stamp set.

• Real Red cardstock 5 x 3 3/4"
• Whisper White cardstock 4 3/4 x 3 1/2”, plus piece for pretty label punch

• Stampin’ Blends: Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Petal Pink, Real Red, Old Olive, Crumb Cake

Card 3: Surfing Santa

Santa spends some of his time in the islands to surf!  The image was colored using Stampin’ Blends.  The Shaded Spruce cardstock was embossed using the Softly Falling textured embossing folder.  The designer paper is from the Tropical Escape paper stack—perfect for the island theme.  All stamped images are from the So Santa stamp set.

Card 4: Baking Santa

Can you smell the sugar and spice cookies?  The image was colored using Stampin’ Blends.  The card is a square 4 ¼”, then attaching the cardstock piece beyond the edge makes the card 5 ½" in height, the size of a standard card that will fit into a medium envelope.  All stamped images are from the So Santa stamp set.

Here comes Santa Claus...!  Travel to my North Pole craft room and join me for class this month where we'll be using designer paper, stamp sets and other products from the Holiday catalog.   Start preparing for the holidays now.  Here is a sneak peek of the cards that we will be making in October's class.
