July Card Class "Flower Shop"

Happy summer!  Hope you enjoy these flower-filled cards that we made in July's class.  Recipes are included with each project and the supply details are listed at the end of this post.

  20180728 July class cards

Card #1: Floral Bouquet

This card features the beautiful Petal Promenade designer series paper.  Each sheet has a photograph image of flowers one one side and marble and other textures on the other side.  All that is needed was a sentiment that was stamped in Early Espresso on whisper white cardstock framed in gold foil.  The strip of Grapefruit Grove was embossed with the Tufted dynamic impressions embossing folder.  The result is beautiful, elegant and simple.  Here are 2 options featuring different papers.   Interested in how this pretty designer paper was made?  Check out the behind the scenes Stampin' Up! YouTube video here.

Card #2: Floral Gift Card Pocket

The idea for this card came from Norine Oyasato, my creative stamping and quilting pal.  The card is cut 2" from the left end up to the card fold, the Stampin' Trimmer is perfect to use for this task.  Then the 2" piece is attached to the card back by putting tear and tape along the 2 outer edges and sealing it so that it forms a pocket (see second photo).  Now you can include a gift card or other special item that will be revealed to the receiver when they open the card.  This card features more of the floral photos from the Petal Promenade designer series paper.  It is mounted on blushing bride cardstock, then adhered to the left side of the card with dimensionals.  The left edge overlaps the pocket section, so be careful not to put dimensionals too close to the left side, otherwise it will be attached to the pocket and you will not be able to open the card.  There is no stamping on this card--the sentiments were cut using framelits and adhered using the fine-tip glue pen.

This simple card was made using the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  Three of the new Stampin' Up! colors were used: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.  Two-step stamping was used for the stems and for the posies.  After stamping, the flowers were colored with Wink of Stella.

Card #4: Elephants and Flowers

As you probably guessed, I couldn't pass up including a critter on one of the cards!  These cute little elephants were made using the Little Elephant stamp set and coordinating Elephant Builder punch.  A little flower made from resin was added to the larger elephant and attached using a glue dot.  These little flowers come in 3 colors (calypso coral, petal pink, and so saffron) as a pack of 18.  The background floral is from the Garden Impressions designer series paper stack.  The grass was also stamped and is from the A Little Wild stamp set.
