August Card Class "Wild About You"
08/26/2017
Here are the cards we made in August's class--lions, elephants, bears and flowers, oh my!
Card #1: Wild About You
This card was made using the Pieces & Patterns stamp set and coordinating Pick A Pattern designer series paper. The dsp was cut into a 3x3 piece and framed to be the focal point of the card. The stamped images were used in the sentiment and for the background. There were also 2 other designs for this card using the same layout.
Card #2: Teddy Bear
This card uses 3-step stamping to create the bear image. The first image was stamped in the lightest color--crumb cake, then the next layer in soft suede, then the final layer in the darkest color, which was early espresso. The bow was stamped on real red cardstock and the punched using the Holly Berry Builder punch. The sample shows a thank you sentiment, but it can be made using many others--birthday, new baby, etc.
Card #3: Tulips
The Tranquil Tulips hostess stamp set was used to create this card featuring the colors of Berry Burst, Tangelo Twist, and Old Olive. For the flowers, 2-step stamping was used. The more solid version of the image was inked then stamped off to lighten it then the image was stamped. For the accent portion of the image, it was stamped with the same color. After the images were stamped, then the flowers were highlighted with Clear Wink of Stella.
Card #4: Bear Window
You may have guessed that this was my favorite card of the bunch. The circle was made using the new 2 1/4" circle punch. The A Little Wild Bundle includes the stamp set and coordinating framelits. The images in the stamp set show the front and back view of the bear (elephant and lion) that can be cut out with coordinating framelits. It is meant to be used as a notecard, but for this card, we separated the pieces so that when the card is opened the back of the bear can be seen. We added some cheeks to the bear using a Blushing Bride Stampin' Write marker. The chalk marker and daffodil delight stampin' write marker were used to color the bee. For the puffy clouds in the background, a sponge dauber was used with whisper white craft ink. The sentiment was stamped on whisper white then punched using the Tree Builder punch. The woodgrain designer paper is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper stack. We also made two more cards using the elephant and lion. So cute!
Hope you enjoyed August's class!
