January Card Class "Sending Hugs"

Here are the cards we made in my first class of 2017.  It was fun to stamp together again!  All supplies used to make these cards are listed at the end of this post.

 Card #1: Monster Hugs

This was the feature card.  As you saw in my previous post, this is one of my favorite sets in the Occassions Catalog - Yummy in my Tummy.  This little monster is so adorable and looks great on many projects!  His cheeks were made using one of my favorite polka dot techniques that I learned from a dear friend Roanna - using the eraser end of a regular pencil and stamping it with Classic Ink.

Card #2: Hey Chick

You may have seen these chickens popping up everywhere, it's a favorite Sale-A-Bration set called Hey,Chick!  This is a panel card, scored 2 1/8" from each end.  The first panel shows 2 chickens, then the inside panel shows a little egg, then the card message inside.  We used the new Watercolor Pencils and blender pens to color the chickens.  I love that the new Watercolor pencil colors are coordinating Stampin' Up! colors.

Card #3: Live, Laugh, Love Pineapple

The Pineapple stamp is from the main catalog.  The stamp comes as one piece but I cut it between the fruit and the crown so that they are now separate stamps and can be easily stamped in different colors.  We used a combination of Crushed Curry and Cucumber Crush.  The background was embossed using the Boho Chic textured embossing folder which gave it a tapa cloth feeling.

Card #4: Love and Hearts

This is a simple and clean card using the Watercolor Words stamp set, also from the main catalog.  The hearts are stamped in Real Red and then traced with the clear Wink of Stella to give it some glimmer.  A small rhinestone gives it some additional pop.

Yummy in my Tummy - Monster Treat Box

Here are cute monster boxes I made this weekend for our Stamped With Aloha event.  The Yummy in my Tummy stamp set is where this monster is from--one of my favorite new stamps in our new Occasions Catalog.

20160121 monster boxes

The monsters are in an assortment of colors because I couldn't decide which one I liked best--they all looked cute.  See the cutouts below--from the top row and left to right, the colors are Pear Pizzazz, Sweet Sugarplum, Wisteria Wonder, Marina Mist, Pool Party, and Watermelon Wonder.

20160121 Monster cut-outs

I used one of our previous kraft window boxes--I stocked up on them when they were on the clearance rack.  Then I cut a 3 x 3 square from designer paper and punched a 2" circle in the designer paper.  I stamped the monster, cut it out, and used a 1 3/4" punch to punch out the tummy of the monster.  I stamped "Yummy in my Tummy" in Staz On black on the acetate window.  I layered the designer paper then the monster on the box lid.  Then added some small punched hearts.  I filled the box with stuffing and Valentine's Day candy.  Ta-da, a cute treat box!
