August Card Class "Sunshine & Rain"

Here are the cards from my August class.  All of the supplies used to make these cards are included at the end of this post.

Card #1: Festive Girl Card

In the spirit of the Olympics, I created this cute little girl using bright colors (tempting turquoise, emerald envy, melon mambo and peakaboo peach) that reminded me of Rio and all of the festivities surrounding the games.

As you may have seen in my previous post on June 25th, the hair for this little girl was created using shapes from the new Fox Builder punch.  Her bangs are from the face accent and her hair is from the tail.  Depending on how you orient the tail shape, you can make different hairstyles.  I haven't tried out a ponytail yet but I'm sure it would be cute!  Her dress is made from the large petal in the Blossom Builder punch using the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.  The embossed design on the Emerald Envy cardstock was made using the Festive embossing folder.

Card #2: Hello Sunshine Card

Following the class theme, the next card is Hello Sunshine.  It is simple and crisp, white on white.  It was made using the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and coordinating Sunshine Wishes thinlits.  The flower would look great in your favorite Stampin' Up color.  This one was stamped in Crushed Curry and the stem and leaves are Pear Pizzazz.  It's dressed up a little with a rhinestone in the flower center.

Card #3: Parachuting Bear Card

This next card was CASEd from a card created by Brian King (stampwithbrian.com, in his  blog post on July 17th).  It fit this month's theme so perfectly because it used the Weather Together stamp set and coordinating Umbrella Weather framelits.  Plus it has a critter--the little bear from the Bear Hugs stamp set and coordinating Bear Hugs framelits!  I just love how the bear is parachuting into the scene.  So adorable!  The featured colors are soft sky, tip top taupe and old olive.   I used a Project Life journaling pen and ruler to draw in the parachute cord.

Card #4: Love & Hugs Umbrella Card

And finally, this love and hugs card was created from the Weather Together stamp set and coordinating Umbrella Weather framelits.  It can be a birthday card, wedding card, baby shower card, everyday card... it's very versatile.  All of the images in this card are from the Weather Together stamp set.  The watermelon wonder makes the card pop.  The other featured colors are crumb cake and early espresso.

Reindeer Card from Foxy Friends

Christmas cards are always fun to make and I decided to get an early start this year by using the Foxy Friends stamp set.  There are so many different images and combinations you can use to make all kinds of cute critters.

  20160806 Fox reindeer card

I used one of my favorite holiday color combinations--cherry cobbler, old olive, early espresso and very vanilla.  This little reindeer was quick and simple to make.  I stamped his body in crumb cake.  Then stamped the front legs and antlers in soft suede.  And finally stamped the face using tuxedo black memento ink.  The tree is from the Foxy Friends set too--I used the larger sized one.  It may be difficult to see in the photo, but I embossed the cherry cobbler cardstock with the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  For the panels, I scored the old olive cardstock along the 8 1/2" edge at 2 1/8" from each end then folded along the score lines.
